DO-IT-YOURSELF TIPS
Dishwasher
Are you dishes not quite as clean as they used to be? We know hard water is a common cause of malfunction in appliances. Thats why we offer products that reverse the buildup of hard water deposits and are safe to use. Lumen is a combination of Sulfamic Acid and Citric Acid that when used properly can restore the cleaning power to your dishwasher. Give us a call for more details, or stop in to pick one up.
Front Load Washing Machine
Odor is another common problem, and it may even make your clothes less fresh smelling. This is caused by the moisture in your washer being trapped and accumulating in tight places where you may not see it, then it begins to mildew. The good news is there is a product that fights back, Affresh was designed to be used in an empty cycle to eliminate all odors. For more question, please call, or stop in and see us.
Air Conitioner
All Air Conditioners big and small should be serviced annually to prevent failure. When the weather begins to warm, give us a call and we will be more than happy to send our certified Air Conditioning technician to perform an annual maintenance for you.
Dryer
Even though your dryer is equipped with a lint filter, a small amount escapes the trap with every load. This seemingly innocent dryer lint can create a real problem. Over time it can build up in your dryer and in the vent on the home causing restricted air flow, and ultimately, part failure. To prevent this from happening, vacuum excess lint from inside the dryer and venting every 6-12 months.
Refrigerator
Did you know dust bunnies can cause you refrigerator to work less effieiently? Well they can. The coils on the refrigerator get a layer of dust and dirt on them and then the refrigarator doesn't cool the way it should. Here at Steve Tucker Appliance we sell an inexpensive tool that is used to brush the coils. Give us a call today for more information!
Microwave
Often time when using a microwave, food will pop and splatter on the inside. To keep you microwave running properly, you should clean the wave guide cover on the inside of the unit. Do not use the microwave with the cover out of place.
Range
Other than keeping the inside of your oven clean, there isn't much maintenance necessary. But for safety you should make sure it is equipped with an anti-tip bracket. Ranges that are not properly secured can cause serious injury and even death.

Three good reasons why you should consider using OEM Parts:
Performance, Reliability & Safety
Optimum Performance
-
An original equipment manufacturer has designed and tested the equipment with specific OEM parts.
Often the parts have been built to the manufacturers' specifications.
-
Cooking and warming times are based on the equipment's performance with OEM parts. There is a
potential for food safety risks if correct temperatures are not reached.
-
Original equipment manufacturers support their brand. Their engineers may change the specs, possibly,
re–engineer parts for more efficient operation of a unit. Their technical staff and we as their authorized
distributor will keep track of these changes for you.
-
If equipment is not performing efficiently, it may increase energy costs.
Greater Reliability
-
The original equipment manufacturer is prepared to ensure that their equipment with OEM components
will perform as expected. A generic part may perform correctly, but there is no guarantee.
-
OEM parts generally carry a 90–day factory warranty.
-
We sell only OEM parts to provide you with the highest quality product and ensure that the parts you have ordered are exact replacements.
-
Your OEM parts have a 90–day warranty.
-
Order a wrong part? No problem—most items can be returned for a credit or refund—your choice! If we
make a mistake, we correct it at our expense immediately.
Safety and Limiting Liability
-
Preserve the warranty on equipment by installing or having your service technician install only original
OEM parts.
-
UL listings apply to the equipment with original components. Changing to a generic component voids
that approval and could be a potential fire hazard. Consider especially elements, thermostats and high
limits.
-
OEM parts were components of the original engineering decisions for the equipment. Some generic
parts, particularly those for gas equipment, may have multiple orifices to fit several different units, an
inherent weakness for gas leakage (and often more installation work for the technician).
